Welcome! I’ve put this site together to share some of the historical craft work I do. My interests are mostly focused on continental Europe in the late Migration Period and Merovingian period – broadly, what was happening between the collapse of the western Roman Empire in the late 4th century and the beginning of Norse expansion in the late 8th century. I enjoy making replicas of domestic pottery and a variety of leather goods, including shoes, belts, and sheathes, based as closely as possible on historical examples. Since I strive for historical accuracy, I’m constantly trying to learn more about the tools and techniques used to create the originals.
